School Diversity Week
The week ahead (26-30 June 2023) marks National Diversity week in schools. To share solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community, Harrow High School have organised events, lessons and displays.
- On Monday 26 June 2023, the staff ambassadors and volunteers learners are creating a beautiful balloon arch which will adorn the entrance to our lower playground.
- The school picnic benches will be having a Pride inspired makeover.
- The Librarian and the junior librarians have created new LGBTQIA+ displays in the library.
- The English department will be using LGBTQIA+ inspired resources throughout the week.
- The canteen will be decorated with Progress flags throughout the week.
- In year group assemblies, learners will be encouraged to understand what the Progress flag represents.
- The music playlist will be LGBTQIA+ inspired.
- Friday 30 June 2023 is 'Wear the Rainbow Day' where will encourage learners to wear ONE rainbow-coloured item (such as lanyard, socks, badge, t-shirt, cap, laces or tie).
- Learners can enter out LGBTQIA+ icons quiz and win a prize (Friday 30 June 2023)
- To continue the celebrations, Harrow High School will link with thousands of other school with the 'Just Like Us' Foundation.
